A Place to Ponder: An Introduction to What Inspires Us
Share
Hello! Welcome to our first entry in our Luca Oliva Studio Blog!
We're very excited to have this outlet to connect, share the ebbs and flows of our journey, and offer a grounding place to reflect on topics were intrigued by. So, let’s begin with a little digging - back to the beginning…
Do you remember when, a time where the world felt like it was speeding by, something completely unexpected happened? The hustle came to a halt. We were forced to slow down, rethink, and reconnect with what truly mattered to us. Well, in that achingly long pause, apart from watching too many episodes of one thing or baking too much of another thing, I like to think a lot of us also found some clarity.
As a collective I think we realised that we didn’t want to be part of the frantic rush anymore – we felt the need to stop and rethink, breathe, and reframe the way we desire shaping our future. As a company in this modern day, we grew tired of the constant cycle of trends, disposable goods, and the pressure to keep up. Instead, we wanted to explore, and mostly create. We wanted to make pieces, spaces, concepts, and connections that truly mattered, that weren’t just pretty on the outside but had depth, meaning, and a story that means something to us. So, here we are! Setting out to contribute to a world where slowness, sustainability, and community is at the core of our beliefs.
So, What's Our Story?
Picture this: a place where every detail is carefully considered, where creativity flows at its own pace, where ideas sometimes frantically come to us but are gently considered. And simply where every one of those ideas is explored with curiosity and admiration (and of course a lot of coffee). That’s Luca Oliva Studio in a nutshell. We’re here to offer more than just “stuff” – we’re here to offer something gentle, something fun, something real, and something lasting.
From the materials we choose to use, the brands we work with, the artisans we collaborate with, we focus on quality over quantity, and craftsmanship over speed. We believe in doing things right, even if it takes a little longer. Because as most of us know, good things come to those who wait. We find ourselves in that space often, waiting, reflecting, doing, planting, sowing.
The Art of Slow Living...
We know, we know. “Slow” is a bit of a buzzword these days. But we want to embody this. Slowness, to us, isn’t about being lazy or unproductive – it’s about being intentional. It’s about taking the time to create something beautiful.
Our home is here in the Mediterranean, on land and on an island, we are in complete awe of what feels like such an absolute privilege to care for this place, to give back to it, to nourish the setting that has given us so much already: in terms of refuge, inspiration, and more sunny days per year one can dream of!
Community: It's Not Just About Us...
We’re not just a brand or just a small business; we’re focused on building community. When you support Luca Oliva Studio, you’re not just buying a thing – you become part of a growing group that values creativity, sustainability, and the importance of sharing amongst each other. Our intention is to build something that goes beyond products; we want to create a space where like-minded souls can come together, share ideas, and maybe even have a glass of wine while admiring a piece of art, working with our hands, sharing anecdotes and most importantly, coming together. Whether it’s a project, a transaction, a workshop, a short interaction, we’re eager to continue the flow of kindness and collaboration.
What's Next...
This blog will be our little corner to share what’s going on in our world. We’ll talk about our design inspirations, share sustainability tips, highlight some incredible people who inspire us, and maybe even give you a behind-the-scenes look at what we’re up to.
So... pour yourself a cup of tea, relax, and stay with us a little longer.
Here’s to the journey ahead – we are so glad you’re sharing it with us.
With gratitude,
Luca Oliva Studio
