Earth Day – a Letter Scented with Herbs
Share
Today is one of those days that stirs a quiet inside me.
Not an empty silence — but a full one.
Full of whispers from the grass, the breath of trees, the gentle rustling of leaves.
Earth Day.
It always brings me more questions than answers.
Am I attentive enough?
Do I truly hear what the Earth is saying when I rush across her surface too fast?
Over time, I’ve found a few quiet remedies:
– Lying in the grass when my mind feels too full.
– Hugging a tree when the world becomes too loud.
– Watering my plants with care, as if it were the most sacred part of my day.
– Brewing herbs not as a task, but as a ritual.
Herbs are a path I take —
Back to myself.
Back to stillness.
Back to nature.
Here in Mallorca, spring brings with it gentle blooms:
Rosemary – clarity of thought, warmth, strength.
Field marigold – tenderness that soothes and heals.
Wild fennel – space for breath, ease, and digestion.
To prepare an infusion:
Pour hot (not boiling) water over a teaspoon of dried or fresh herbs.
Cover and let steep for 10 minutes.
Let this be your moment.
Not a rush. Not a routine. But a pause — made with intention.
At Luca Oliva, we believe that true beauty grows from our closeness to the natural world.
We surround ourselves with fabrics, scents, and flavors that are born slowly, respectfully.
Made with hands and hearts that know the rhythm of the Earth.
And I feel a deep sense of gratitude…
To those who gather herbs at dawn.
To the hands that dry them with care.
To those who transform them into oils and essences, keeping the memory of the land alive.
This is why we reach for natural skincare, created locally — with mindfulness and reverence.
Like the work of Viti Vinci, who distill the wild plants of Mallorca into scents that do not just smell —
They remind.
They remind us where we come from.
And how we can return, each day.
A Letter to Mother Earth
Thank you for your quiet gifts.
For herbs that heal.
For scents that awaken old memories.
For teaching me the beauty of simplicity.
Today I want to care for you.
And I will begin with myself.
And you?
When was the last time you sat without a reason, just to feel the grass beneath you?
Do you remember the scent of your place on this earth?
How will you show your gratitude today?
With love,
Łucja
